Summary: World population has increased dramatically over the past years; the world population is expected to be 10 billion in 2050, from current population 7.2 billion. Factors which seem to be accounted in the continuously increasing population are due to cultural influences, economics, and a lack of access to birth control or family
planning. It is expected that Africa will become as populated as China in regards tot their current rates. The future population of Africa will determine the fate of the growth population, and decline. The increase of populations also lead to shortages of natural resources which affects the entire world. Women in Ghana and the number of kids they have are usually different according to their degree of education. Women in Africa would want to stop or delay pregnancy, but they find it quite difficult when they don't have access to contraceptives. |
Reflection: The world population has increased incredibly throughout the years. The number of people in the world isn't always good, especially when that number keeps increasing. Just like everything and everyone else- Earth has a certain capacity. What Earth provides and provide for us is all we have; if the population continues to grow as rapid as it is now, Earth won't be able to sustain us any longer. Many of the occurring pregnancies are mainly due to lack of access to birth control. Women in Africa want this access, but they are unable to receive it. Birth control should be provided to all, men and women because it is not only the responsibility of the women. Help is needed to provide help for women with need, education is needed throughout for all.
